This is a presentation I did in 2021 at the Luxemburg Animal Rights Conference (it was only published much later). In the talk, I recognize the issues many people in the animal/vegan movement have with capitalism and big companies, but argue that these companies are a necessary ingredient of the transition. I give the example of the Vegetarian Butcher, and how its being acquired by Unilever seems to have led to a massive scaling up with mainly advantages.
